Biography

Chris Hogan focuses his litigation practice on resolving complicated disputes for clients, primarily those in the energy industry. Chris has substantial experience in federal court, state court, and arbitration proceedings. He has tried numerous cases as first chair, including jury trials and arbitration final hearings. His practice niches include mineral rights disputes such as pooling and commingling, ownership, and royalty payment issues.

Chris is licensed to practice in Texas, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and North Dakota.

I didn’t grow up knowing much about the law; I didn’t have any lawyers in the family. But I saw early on that the legal system was a place where I could make a difference and fight on a level playing field. And I’ve worked hard since I graduated from law school to help my clients get justice, whether it be through pursuing claims on their behalf of defending them from unfair and untrue allegations.

I’ve also been blessed to get to work extensively in matters dealing with energy law, which I find fascinating. I think that oil, gas and other natural resources are crucial to our world and I love getting to work to make sure that everyone from operators to individuals get a fair shake when it comes to the development of those resources.

Out of the office

“In my spare time, I spend most of my time with my wife and three wonderful children or helping my church as a Parish Council member and Church School teacher,” says Chris.

Chris and his family enjoy visiting national parks and natural sites across Texas and the U.S., hiking and enjoying the great outdoors.

Fun fact: “I’m an Eagle Scout and can still tie many (but not all…) of the knots I learned during scouting—which can come in handy during our outdoor trips!”
